Hi everyone, Aron Chambers here. I’m stepping in to give you all a much-needed update on Corey.
I am so relieved to tell you that he is doing better every single day. He’s gaining strength and improving, though we constantly have to remind him that this recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. He is really putting in the work, and because of your incredible generosity, we’ve been able to help him cover his essential living expenses while he can't work, along with a massive portion of his immediate medical bills. You all stepped up when he was in the fight of his life, and we couldn't be more grateful.
For anyone new to the page, Corey survived a devastating motorcycle crash in Tulum, Mexico, earlier this year. He suffered 11 fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and severe internal bleeding. After initial treatment in Playa del Carmen, the financial and medical pressure became so crushing that we had to arrange a medical transport inland to Mérida. That's where doctors discovered a detached rib was actively piercing his lung. He lost three liters of blood—nearly half the blood in his entire body—and it took three life-saving surgeries just to stabilize him.
The ordeal completely drained his savings and pushed his support circle to the absolute limit, but he survived. Corey is fiercely independent and the last guy to ever ask for a handout, which is exactly why I'm stepping up to ask for him.
The worst of the nightmare is behind us, but the financial toll of major medical trauma lasts a long time. While the immediate crisis is over, we are still staring down lingering follow-up bills. Corey's ribcage is still healing, so he isn't strong enough to travel normally just yet. He continues to require specialized non-emergency medical transport to get to his appointments safely, plus ongoing outpatient respiratory therapy to rebuild his lung capacity.
We are incredibly close to our campaign goal, and we just need a little more help to cross the finish line. Hitting this target will clear his remaining medical debt and ensure Corey can focus 100% on getting healthy and back to being the "Big Hoss" we all know and love.
If you can donate, no amount is too small to help us clear these final hurdles. If you aren't in a position to give right now, simply sharing this link on your social media means the world to us and keeps the momentum alive.
And please, keep leaving your messages of support. Corey reads every single one, and your encouragement truly fuels his recovery. Corey is a fighter, but even fighters need a corner man. Thank you for being in his corner, for your prayers, and for your unwavering kindness. We are almost there.
With deepest gratitude,
Aron Chambers
